Over the last seven years, I have been training to improve my health. I used to weigh 500 lbs and it took me up to 30 minutes just to get up from bed in the morning due to chronic pain. This situation was very frustrating because I felt like my body controlled me. Having a family history that consisted of several health problems due obesity, I decided I was going to take control of my health. So, I decided to get gastric bypass surgery and as a result had several health issues ranging from anemia, hypothyroidism, and high blood pressure due to the lack of nutrients even though I had lost some weight. Unfortunately, I slowly started regaining the weight. Again, I was faced with the history of my family's health issues and my current health issues due to the surgery and this time I decided I was going to take control of my health instead of getting a quick fix. I started eating better and working out. This resulted in me losing 200+ pounds and I continue to drop the pounds. Each day I work towards attaining my long-term goal of feeling good and proud about myself and body. Never give up!!
